Job Title: Seasonal Retail Associate

While previous retail experience is not required, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers in selecting products that best meet their needs, offering personalized recommendations, and sharing product knowledge.
- Store Operations: Participate in the opening and closing of the store, ensuring that all procedures are followed accurately and efficiently.
- Inventory Management: Receive, check, and stock incoming shipments. Perform cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels, and communicate with management regarding low inventory items.
- Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment through daily cleaning, organizing, and merchandising.
- Cash Handling: Operate the cash register, handle cash transactions, and count change accurately as needed.
- Online Order Retrieval: Print, process, and pull items for incoming online orders, which will then be completed by a shipping associate.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in order processing and inventory management.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet productivity goals without compromising quality.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with shipping staff and handling customer and vendor inquiries via phone, email, and social media.
- Basic computer skills for managing Point of Sale software and inventory systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while assisting customers at the register.
- Comfortable using basic Apple software programs; experience with Shopify POS is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and communication.
- Prior customer service experience is beneficial but not required.
Working Conditions:
- Shifts are typically morning to mid-day or mid-day to late afternoon during the week, with extended hours during festivals or special events. Weekend and evening shifts are required.
- Availability for key retail dates, including Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, the weekend before Christmas, and Christmas Eve, is required as this is a seasonal position.
- Some stair climbing is required as part of the job duties.
- Light lifting (up to 40 pounds) is required for stocking and processing incoming orders.
